Section 01

Important Information for Clients & Delegation Organisers

Business trips, executive delegations, factory sourcing tours and corporate MICE programmes to China involve cross-border travel, on-site factory visits, multi-city logistics and corporate events. While China Business Travel designs fully organised, secure itineraries, unforeseen incidents may arise throughout your journey. This page outlines insurance requirements, recommended coverage types, our scope of support and liability terms for all booking clients.

Section 02

Why Your Delegation Must Hold Valid Business Travel Insurance

Even comprehensively planned corporate travel may encounter unexpected risks including:

  • Medical emergencies, injuries or hospitalisation during international flights and factory site visits
  • Flight delays, cancellations, missed connecting flights and schedule disruptions
  • Loss, theft or damage to personal luggage, laptops and professional business equipment
  • Itinerary adjustments caused by extreme weather, local transport strikes or industrial shutdowns
  • Third-party personal injury or property liability incidents during supplier meetings and factory tours

We strongly require every executive and group participant to purchase full travel insurance prior to departure. This requirement applies especially to senior travellers and delegates with pre-existing chronic health conditions.

Section 03

Recommended Insurance Coverage Categories

Based on corporate risk policies and the scope of your China business programme, we advise combining the following coverages within a single corporate travel policy:

  • Overseas Medical & Evacuation Cover: Emergency hospital treatment, medical repatriation and emergency flight home for illness or injury
  • Trip Cancellation & Interruption Cover: Compensation if your programme is shortened, postponed or fully cancelled due to covered emergency reasons
  • Baggage & Business Equipment Cover: Financial protection for lost, stolen or damaged work devices, samples and personal belongings
  • Corporate Public Liability Cover: Third-party compensation for bodily harm or property damage occurring during factory visits and corporate events
  • Professional Indemnity Cover (If Applicable): Coverage for financial claims arising from business consultation and sourcing activities on your trip
  • Business Interruption Cover (For Partner Agencies): Protection for tour operators arranging group delegations with us

Please consult your internal risk management team, HR department or licensed insurance broker to select coverage matching your company’s corporate risk standards.

Section 04

How China Business Travel Can Assist With Insurance Arrangements

China Business Travel is not an insurance provider, broker or underwriter. We do not sell, issue or advise on standalone insurance policies. Our service scope is limited to programme coordination only:

Services we provide:

  • Custom design and full coordination of factory sourcing tours, executive briefings and corporate delegations across China
  • Complete local logistics including transport, accommodation, factory appointments and on-site multilingual support
  • Transparent guidance on common travel risks in Chinese industrial and commercial regions

Services we cannot provide:

  • Official professional insurance consultation or policy product recommendations
  • Assessment of whether your corporate insurance policy meets trip risk requirements
  • Mediation, claims handling or dispute resolution between clients and insurance providers

Upon formal written request, we can connect you with trusted partner insurance providers specialising in cross-border corporate travel, and supply full itinerary documents required for your insurance quotation.

All insurance contracts, premium payments and claim terms remain an exclusive agreement between your organisation and the selected insurance carrier. China Business Travel accepts no contractual liability related to any insurance product you purchase.

Section 05

Core Client & Delegation Organiser Responsibilities

By confirming and paying for any programme with China Business Travel, you acknowledge and accept the following binding obligations:

  • You are solely responsible for ensuring every delegate holds valid, sufficient travel insurance before travel commencement
  • You fully acknowledge all inherent risks of cross-border business travel, factory site visits and industrial facility tours
  • You must distribute clear insurance compliance guidance to all participating executives and staff within your group
  • You must notify our team in advance if your corporate internal policies impose special safety or insurance rules affecting itinerary design

We advise all delegates to store digital and physical copies of insurance policy documents and global emergency hotline numbers accessible throughout the entire trip duration.

Section 06

Liability Disclaimer

We implement all commercially reasonable safety protocols for every corporate programme, yet numerous travel risks sit outside our direct operational control. Subject to the full limits of People’s Republic of China commercial law:

  • China Business Travel, its local subcontractors, factory partners and on-site staff shall not be liable for personal injury, sickness, death, property loss, flight delays or extra costs caused by uncontrollable external events
  • Our total financial liability to any client is strictly capped at the full programme fees paid by that group, excluding any indirect business losses or uninsured expenses

This clause does not exclude any statutory liability which cannot be lawfully limited under applicable national regulations.

Section 07
